Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention 2009 Coverage
August 19, 2009Posted by on
Ok, so after much procrastination, 3 days after the event ended, I’ve decided to post my photos as well as some coverage on the event.
The Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention 2009, held on the 14th to 16th of August, is an annual event that toy collectors and otakus look forward to every year. I’ve attended Day 1 and Day 2 of the event. A pity that I was not able to visit the convention on the last day due to work commitments.
Read on for the complete entry.
Upon entering the hall, one of the most prominent booths you would notice would be the Hasbro section. Of course, being a Transformer collector, obviously, Hasbro would be the first booth I would cover.
Hasbro covered mainly GI Joe as well as Transformers. GI Joe being one of the current films showing in Singapore cinema now, focus on GI Joe merchandise was quite well done. Extravagant and definitely loads of toys to attract the kids.
The Transformers section was kind of MEH to me personally. Nothing new and nothing interesting. Ok, there was a Prime and Megatron display cabinet but it was nothing spectacular. There were missing Primes and Megatron. Only little “highlight” was that I got to see the in package of SDCC Reissue Soundwave. That, and it being overpriced at $79.90 was the reason I did not get it.
Next, I headed to the Action City booth just beside Hasbro.
As usual, beautiful man-dolls but something I cannot afford for the time being. Have always been mesmerized by the immerse details packed onto these “dolls”. One day.. just one day.
Next, Simply Toys..
Amazing statues on display. Here’s one I snapped from the G&B Comics booth.
The beautiful Archangel.
Some from the Upper Deck Booth.
Also on display, some from the World of Warcraft miniature game. I have no idea if these are current releases or upcoming ones. I’m guessing current releases.
The usual Vinyl Figures lineup from Play Imaginative.
The Blythe booth.
Also the HUGE Bandai booth, consisting of over 200 Gachapon Machines.
Just look at that.

Other Bandai Products
Tamashii Nation Exclusive, Naked Colour Edition
Ok and some other miscellaneous event pics I took.
